Finally Changed my Google+ Custom URL

by JenJacqs

I have a Google+ account for quite some time now and from the start when I have it, the link to my profile looks like this.

Doesn’t your link looks like this too? For quite some time, I didn’t bother to check on how to change it to my own customize URL and what are the requirements on having one. But then today, I got the urged to change it so that my Google+ profile will be easy to type or memorize rather than having those profile numbers that I currently have.

As I blog hop, a doctor (who happens to be my friend) posted about her newest beauty machine, a Cryo Stamp. It is a beauty machine, you can read more about the machine in her article. It is in her blog site that I clicked on some blog links of her friends then I saw one post about his Google+ Custom URL. This got me on my account, searching on how to change one. I did not find it there so I went to my profile and browse more below. Then I saw the link on where to change my URL and out came Google’s suggestions for your custom URL. I choose one, tick the check box agreeing to their terms of service and they let me confirm my choice and…

By the way, this is what the requirements that I read online for you to change your URL.

  • Has a profile photo
  • Has at least 10 followers
  • Has an account that’s at least 30 days old

I finally got my Google+ custom URL! They even congratulated me for having my own URL. Yay! 😀

The old profile URL still works but it will redirect you to my new one. Did you get to change your Google+ custom URL too? How did you do it? Which one do you like now, the old or new Google+ URL?
